FPB Note Swapper 2.0
Note Swapper 2.0
Max for Live MIDI effect.
Made with Ableton 11.3.4 and Max 5.5.4
Requires the included last_note_off_only.maxpat and noteswapper2.json files to be stored in the same folder with the main device.
Note Swapper 2.0 is intended to be an easier to use yet more flexible alternative to devices like Ableton Lives native Chord MIDI effect.
Simply enter an input note on the top green keyboard then input the corresponding output notes on the red keyboard and they will playback every time you press the input note.
Unlike the Ableton Chord device which is limited to a maximum of 6 output notes, related by the same fixed intervals regardless of the input note, Note Swapper 2.0 enables every single input note to have a unique set of 0-88 output notes associated with it.
Note Swapper 2.0 can play back notes simultaneously or be set to strum them using the speed and strength controls. The direction of the strum can be set in a number of different ways using the strum mode drop down menu.
The Clone and Reset functions makes setting up new output notes a job that takes seconds for the whole keyboard range.
Presets banks can be saved to and loaded from external files. It is recommended that all created .json files for external banks are saved in the same folder as the main device. Presets can then be loaded on the fly in Live allowing the user great flexibility in how note output responds to their MIDI controller.
